¹² If he does not relent,^(A)
    he^[a] will sharpen his sword;^(B)
    he will bend and string his bow.^(C)

³⁰ Since they would not accept my advice
    and spurned my rebuke,^(A)

³¹ they will eat the fruit of their ways
    and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.^(A)

¹³ But the people have not returned^(A) to him who struck^(B) them,
    nor have they sought^(C) the Lord Almighty.

¹⁴ So the Lord will cut off from Israel both head and tail,
    both palm branch and reed^(A) in a single day;^(B)
